Gil Troy, a native of Queens, New York, is a Professor of History at McGill University, specializing in the modern American presidency. The award-winning author of eleven books, he has appeared on most major TV networks as a political commentator and in history documentaries, including CNN's The Eighties and the National Geographic Channel's The '80s: The Decade that Made Us. He is the author of The Age of Clinton: America in the 1990s, just published by Thomas Dunne Books of St. Martin's Press. Other books include Morning in America: How Ronald Reagan Invented the 1980s, See How They Ran: the Changing Role of the Presidential Candidate, Mr. and Mrs. President: From the Trumans to the Clintons, and Moynihan's Moment: America's Fight against Zionism as Racism. In 2012 he updated the classic encyclopedia first edited by Arthur M. Schlesinger, Jr. and Fred Israel, The History of American Presidential Elections.
