it's weird because this movie fails to be compelling within the first two and a half minutes. it accomplishes this by not bothering to build any atmosphere or believable world. there is no immersion that can take place because the director had decided that the movie, even if experienced in a vacuum, would be shadowed by the the original regardless.
just watch original again. me typing this is saving you time in the short run of things.
